Repair Reservation

It feels amazing to know that my reputation created more demand than I could manage with an open appointment calendar. Things were pretty crazy for a while.

So, to ensure I can continue to give each instrument the expert care it deserves, I’m managing appointments with what I’m calling the Repair Reservation System.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Reserve: Add your details below to secure a reservation in the system. You’ll get an email confirming I have your info.

  2. Drop-Off Appointment: At the next available appointment window, I’ll be in touch to arrange a time for you to drop off your guitar.

  3. Work Complete and Collection: Once I have the instrument, most jobs are turned around in a couple of days.

Thank you very much for your patience. It means a lot and I do not take it for granted. If you’ve any questions, there’s a FAQ further down the page or you can drop me a line.

Estimated next available drop-off window: 4 weeks

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yeah, it can get a bit busy around here. I consider myself very fortunate that I'm always pretty busy but demand has really grown lately. I hope it means I'm doing something right but I really do understand that nobody likes waiting. I’m sorry about that.

  • That’s a fair question. The wait between adding your reservation and getting an appointment can obviously vary. The current estimate for the next reservation window is listed above the reservation form.

  • Enter the details above. You don’t need to write a novel — it’s just to help me try estimate the work involved and, sometimes, to get a head-start with you for parts or more information.

When I have an available window, I’ll be in touch and you can pick a drop-off time that works for you.

At drop-off, we’ll discuss what’s needed and I’ll get to work almost immediately. Most things are turned around in just a couple of days.

  • I’m trying to keep things to a maximum of three per appointment but, of course, I’ll do my best to accommodate you if there’s more. So, if you need to get your whole band’s gear serviced in one go, drop me a line and I’ll work with you to see what we can do.

  • Probably not. There are very few actual guitar emergencies. “I absolutely need this guitar” is much more rare than “I really want this guitar” and almost every working musician has access to another instrument they can use (even if it’s not their preferred option). For this reason, I almost never do urgent jobs.

However, if you’re an international touring band who will be in town only for a day or two and you absolutely must get something repaired, give me a call and I’ll do what I can.

For most other reasons, I’m probably not going to be able to help out. Sorry. Anything that skips means other people in the queue get delayed. That’s not something I choose to do lightly.

  • Let me know as soon as possible. We’ll figure something out.
