How a visit to Haze Guitars works

How a visit to Haze Guitars works

Repair appointments here at Haze Guitars work a little differently than most other places.

The very short story is:

  • Book an appointment
  • Drop your instrument at your appointment time.
  • Collect your instrument in a day, or maybe two.

If you want, you can stop reading here.

However, for a little more information and context on the process, you might find the following useful.

Season's Greetings

Ho ho ho, everybody.

As is usual at this time of year, my wife is forcing me to take a short holiday to spend some time with my family. Since she scowls if I look like moving towards the workshop, Haze Guitars will be closed from 24th December, opening again on 5th January, 2015

In January, I'll be hitting the ground running with the—now stupidly traditional—setup sale. More information on that over the next week.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everybody who's trusted me with their instruments over the last year. I know those guitars, basses, banjos, mandos, etc. mean a lot to you and it means a lot to me that you'd trust me with them. I hope I was able to help.

Thanks, also, to those of you who downloaded my book, Truss Rods Made Easy, and who regularly read my email newsletter. I love writing these, talking with you, and I hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, everyone.

Christmas Opening 2012

It seems like my internal organs have barely recovered from last year and Christmas is here again. Ho ho ho.

While it would probably be cheaper just to pay someone to kick me repeatedly in the liver for a week, it is traditional to take a little time off to ruin my health the old-fashoined, Irish, way.

With that in mind, Haze Guitars will be closed for the Christmas period. Other than a couple of collections I've already arranged, Haze will be closed from 23rd of December until the 2nd of January.

I will be answering the occasional email as family/turkey sandwiches/hangovers allow so feel free to drop me a line.

Come January, I'll continue to follow tradition by holding the Great And Marvellous, Definitely Going To Kill Me This Year, January Setup Sale. More info on this—and some other exciting news for January—over the next week.

As I always do at this time of year, I want to say an incredibly massive thank you to everybody who's trusted me with their instruments over the last year. I know what it means to hand over your precious and I genuinely appreciate your trust. I hope I was able to help.

Thanks for everything this year, and have a great Christmas.

Where You At?

I've updated my map and the Find Us page on my site to make it even easier to find Haze Guitars. The new map allows you to more easily find your way, especially from locations outside Dublin (I'm guilty of having been a little Dublin-centric on the old map). New bus route information is included and there are map coordinates that you can plug in your GPS or smart phone.

What an age we live in.

As it turns out, this is pretty timely. For some reason, Bing Maps has recently changed and is now mislabelling roads at my location. I've no idea why this might be; they used to be fine. Open Street Map and Google Maps are still correct, by the way. Apple Maps on the iPhone is fine too.

If you're using Bing , please be careful. My address is Rossberry Avenue but, at the time of writing, that road is displayed on the map as Rossberry Park.

If you want to do the sat-nav thing, the coordinates are below. Different devices require different formats (DMS or DD) so both are listed.

Degrees, Minutes, Seconds (DMS):

  • Latitude 53 20 21 (North)
  • Longitude -6 26 14 (West)

Decimal Degrees (DD):

  • 53.339114, -6.437398

Or just use address, 54 Rossberry Avenue, Lucan. Do remember to drop me a line to sort an appointment first, though.
