Season’s Greetings

This time of year always feels like a good time to say thank you and to wish you well.

So…

Thank you.

Thank you for reading this stuff. Thank you for emailing me and commenting on this stuff. If you’ve downloaded or bought any of my books this year, thank you. If you’ve trusted me with your guitars or basses this year, a massive thank you. All of this means a lot to me and I really appreciate your trust.

I’m looking forward to spending Christmas with my family — it’s gonna be great. If you’re celebrating something this time of year, I hope your holiday is fantastic. And, if you’re not celebrating anything in particular, well, then just have a great day. 👍

Happy Christmas and thanks again.

Gerry

P.S. Haze Guitars is now closed for the holidays and will reopen in the new year, on 2nd of January. See you then.

Happy Christmas from Gerry at Haze Guitars

Thank you

It’s been something of a topsy-turvy few weeks for me and that’s had an impact on things at Haze Guitars. Sorry about that.

If you’ve been good enough to accommodate me and reschedule appointments, thank you so much for your patience and understanding. And, if I’ve neglected to get back to anyone recently, I’m sorry and I’ll do my best to rectify that as things get back on an even keel around here.

Thanks for your trust

As is (rightfully) customary for me at this time of year, I want to say a massive thank you to everyone who’s trusted me with their precious instruments over the last year. I know what that means and I really appreciate it. I say it every year, and I mean it every year, thank you. Thank you very much.

Haze Guitars will be closed until January 3rd, 2018 and I’m looking forward to getting back to working on some guitars.

Happy Christmas to you all. I’ll see you next year and, until then, find someone you care about and give them a hug.

Season's Greetings and Christmas Opening

Season's greetings, everyone.

We've reached that time of year again. I'll be taking a bit of a break for a few days. There are Christmas traditions that must be attended to (mostly eating too much and perhaps indulging in an interesting ale or two).

With that in mind:

Haze Guitars will be closed from 23rd December and will open again from January 4th.

Thank you

At this time of year, it's really important to me to say a huge 'thank you' to everyone who has trusted me with their guitars this year. I'm very aware of how much these instruments mean to you and it means a lot to me that you would trust me with them. Thank you so much and I really hope I was able to help out.

Ho Ho Ho

Whatever particular holiday you celebrate at this time of year, I hope it's a fantastic one (and if you don't celebrate anything around now, just have a nice day).

Cheers, everyone.

Season’s greetings, all. Ho ho ho and all that.

It’s that time of year again. As Santa rocks and rolls, I take a few days off. The only guitar I’ll be touching over the next few days is my own. There is turkey that must be consumed and interesting ales that must be drunk, so:

Haze Guitars will be closed from 23rd December, opening again on January 4th.

I’ll be hitting the ground at a sprint in January. The traditional Haze Setup Sale will run all through January. More on that in a few days—stay tuned.

Thank you

Also traditional—and hugely important—as the year draws to an end, I want to say a massive and sincere ‘thank you’ to everybody who’s trusted me with their instruments over the last year. I understand these instruments mean a lot to you and it means a lot to me that you trusted me with them. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I hope I was able to help out.

Happy Holidays

So, to you all, a happy Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, Saturnalia, Solstice, Newtonmas, Rod Serling’s Birthday, or whatever you happen to celebrate around this time of year. Or, if you don’t celebrate anything around now, just have a nice day.

Cheers, everyone.

Season's Greetings

Ho ho ho, everybody.

As is usual at this time of year, my wife is forcing me to take a short holiday to spend some time with my family. Since she scowls if I look like moving towards the workshop, Haze Guitars will be closed from 24th December, opening again on 5th January, 2015

In January, I'll be hitting the ground running with the—now stupidly traditional—setup sale. More information on that over the next week.

I'd like to say a huge thank you to everybody who's trusted me with their instruments over the last year. I know those guitars, basses, banjos, mandos, etc. mean a lot to you and it means a lot to me that you'd trust me with them. I hope I was able to help.

Thanks, also, to those of you who downloaded my book, Truss Rods Made Easy, and who regularly read my email newsletter. I love writing these, talking with you, and I hope you enjoy it.

Cheers, everyone.

Wishlist Books

I recently found out about these two books. Guitar geeks, take note. Friends and partners of guitar geeks, you might still make it in time for Christmas.

Amazon links included down the bottom if you're interested. Or, just search for them on Amazon or the book seller of your choice (like there's one that Amazon hasn't kicked to  death).

I've ordered one and wish-listed the other for after the crazy season.

The Fender Archives

Listed as a 'scrapbook' of Fender history. It's crammed full of stuff like handwritten letters, production totals, personal logbooks, in-house memos, Leo Fender's drawing-board sketches and lots more. It sounds pretty interesting and mine is already on its way to me. Hopefully it'll arrive around the same time as Santa.

Brian May's Red Special

Many of you will probably know that the young Brian May built his iconic guitar with his dad. This book looks at that process as well as the guitar's history and life. Even better, though, is that it's accompanied by original diagrams, sketches and notes dating from the building of the guitar, as well as close-ups and (get this) x-rays. Seriously, x-rays! Why wouldn't you buy this?

Amazon links for products mentioned:

  • The Fender Archives: US | UK
  • Brian May’s Red Special: US | UK

These Amazon links have my affiliate code attached. If you click them and buy stuff, Amazon give me a few cents. It doesn’t cost you any more and it means that, every now and then, I get to buy some tea or something. If this bothers you, feel free to just open Amazon and search for the stuff yourself.

Christmas Opening 2013

Another rock 'n' roll Christmas, another Christmas, hangover-laden, bout of gout. Rich foods and tasty beers beckon and Haze Guitars will be closing its doors for a little while.

Other than the few collections I've already arranged, Haze Guitars will be closed from December 24th until Monday, January 6th.

I'll be checking in on emails from time to time so feel free to drop me a line if you need to.

Come January, I'll be hitting the ground running with the—now traditional—Amazing and Astonishing, This Is Just Crazy, January Setup Sale. It'll be super-cheap, high-quality, setups all through January. More info on that over the next few days.

As always at the end of the year, I want to say a really huge 'thank you' to everybody who trusted me with their instruments this year. I know what it means to allow someone to work on your beloved guitars and basses (and miscellaneous stringed things) and I really, really appreciate that trust. I hope I was able to help.

Thank you very much and have a fantastic Christmas.

Christmas Opening 2012

haze guitars instrument repair dublin

It seems like my internal organs have barely recovered from last year and Christmas is here again. Ho ho ho.

While it would probably be cheaper just to pay someone to kick me repeatedly in the liver for a week, it is traditional to take a little time off to ruin my health the old-fashoined, Irish, way.

With that in mind, Haze Guitars will be closed for the Christmas period. Other than a couple of collections I've already arranged, Haze will be closed from 23rd of December until the 2nd of January.

I will be answering the occasional email as family/turkey sandwiches/hangovers allow so feel free to drop me a line.

Come January, I'll continue to follow tradition by holding the Great And Marvellous, Definitely Going To Kill Me This Year, January Setup Sale. More info on this—and some other exciting news for January—over the next week.

As I always do at this time of year, I want to say an incredibly massive thank you to everybody who's trusted me with their instruments over the last year. I know what it means to hand over your precious and I genuinely appreciate your trust. I hope I was able to help.

Thanks for everything this year, and have a great Christmas.
